The 17th edition of Job Fair organised by the Career Office of the University of Lodz took place at the Faculty of Management of the University of Lodz on 26 October 2023. Career Office at the University of Lodz – plan your future

The official opening of the Job Fair, combined with the symbolic cutting of the ribbon, was attended by: Prof. Agnieszka Kurczewska – the University of Lodz Vice-Rector for External relations, Prof. Tomasz Czapla – Dean of the University of Lodz Faculty of Management, Adam Pustelnik – Vice  Mayor of the City of Lodz, Robert Baryła – Vice-Marshal of the Lodz Voivodeship, as well as representatives of the main partners of the event.

Welcome to the 17th edition of the Job Fair organised by the University of Lodz. This is undoubtedly a celebration for both students and employers. I want to thank the Faculty of Management very much for their hospitality, but most of all I would like to thank the over 50 employers who are with us today. The offer is wide and everyone will find something for themselves. I would like to suggest to students that they go beyond their usual thinking and approach very different stands. Sometimes we have a plan for the future, but it turns out that something interesting may be waiting a little further away. Importantly, the University of Lodz Career Office operates not only today, but all year round. I encourage you to follow all events related to building your career in the future – you will easily find them on all social media. I feel convinced that for many of you this will be a great beginning of a new adventure

– said Prof. Agnieszka Kurczewska.

Inspiring meetings – practical advice

In addition to the opportunity to meet recruiters directly, the event participants had the opportunity to use the Career Zone, where specialists provided advice on building application documents. Moreover, the zone offered the opportunity to use the services of a professional photographer and have a photo for one’s CV taken.

During the event, students could learn about the behind-the-scenes of the activities of Internet creators and get to know what good practices to maintain the interest of followers are. The meeting was hosted by Dymitr Błaszczyk, who runs a popular YouTube channel – Sprawdzam jak. Later, Jowita Michalska, President at Digital University Foundation, met with the gathered student community, sharing her observations about the professions and competences of the future.

The fair participants could also take advantage of countless attractions, as well as win the university gadgets. A specially prepared e-folder enabled the participants to easily find all the stands and attractions as well as get familiar with the characteristics of the exhibitors.

This year's main partners of the event included: ABB, Accenture, Alorica, Jeronimo Martins, Philips and Rossmann, as well as the "Młodzi w Łodzi" [Youth in Lodz] Programme, which this year became a supporting partner. Smaller enterprises and a dozen or so non-governmental organisations also joined the group present at the fair and presented their offers addressed to people looking for professional experience.
